![]() They tripped over our blanket, stumbled into us, etc. There were just plain too many people in the venue, and it seemed like half of everyone we ran into on the lawn was drunk. Had lawn seats and I really like lawn seats - anywhere else. And that after waiting in line fifteen minutes just to get into the packed, poorly lighted den. Tried with all my might to hold my breath. I felt like I was breathing it instead of air. But amongst the humidity was also the heat (and stench) of urine. The weather was hot and humid, and so were the restrooms. Saw Tom Petty and the Black Crowes one July. Not enough toilets or stalls for the wave upon wave of drunken party-people using them. So, I'll start with generally egregious and proceed downward. Exactly what part was the very worst progressing to the least horrible, awful aspect, I don't know. The worst: I can't decide the order for this one. But all of that only gets it a 2, and that's generous. What's more, it has a nice outdoor atmosphere. I've been there three times, and there were several more I would have liked to see and couldn't for one reason or another. And I hate to say that, because the best part is: great acts tend to book there, at reasonable prices. Somewhat of a combination between Alpine Valley and the Marcus Amphitheater, FMB Amphitheater definitely could give you the impression by the pictures online that it's a top notch place, but (air out of bubble) it's not. ![]()
